Industries · How med spas get recommended by ChatGPT and AI search
Clients ask AI who's safe for Botox. Your credentials need to be readable.
Aesthetic treatment questions mix research ("how long does filler last?") with a recommendation ("best injector in [city]"). Assistants favour providers whose credentials, treatments and prices are clearly stated.

What people ask AI assistants
- “Best med spa in [city] for lip filler”
- “Who does laser hair removal for dark skin near me?”
- “How much is Botox per unit in [city]?”
- “Med spa with a nurse injector in [neighbourhood]”
Why does AI search matter for med spas?
Safety and credentials drive the decision. Assistants answering medical-adjacent questions tend to favour sources that state who performs treatments and what their qualifications are.
Med spa sites are often heavy on before-and-after images and booking widgets and light on text. That makes them attractive to people and nearly opaque to machines.
What we know so far
Full report and method →We haven't scanned med spas websites yet, so we won't quote numbers for them. Our first study covered 101 dentist, law-firm and home-service sites. The gaps below are the ones we check for on every small-business site, adapted to how med spas are usually found.
The med spa checklist
Things to do this week, roughly in order.
- Name who performs each treatment and their licence (MD, NP, PA, RN) on the treatment page.
- Give each treatment its own page: what it is, who it suits, downtime, aftercare and a price range or unit price.
- Say who the medical director is, if your state requires one.
- Make sure your treatment menu isn't only inside a booking widget that crawlers can't read.
- Add MedicalBusiness or HealthAndBeautyBusiness schema with address, hours and sameAs links.
- Keep before-and-after images, but add a caption with the treatment and number of sessions.
What are the common mistakes, and the fixes?
- 01
Provider credentials missing
List who performs each treatment and their licence (MD, NP, RN) as plain text on treatment and team pages.
- 02
Treatments without their own pages
One page per treatment with what it is, who it suits, aftercare and a price range answers the questions assistants are asked.
- 03
Booking widgets that hide content
If your services and prices load inside a third-party widget, crawlers may never see them.
