GeoLumen's tools are free. We pay for them in three ways: the paid AI Visibility Audit, affiliate links, and paid placements in our tool directory. This page explains the last two.
Affiliate links
Some links to other companies' tools are affiliate links. If you click one and buy, we may earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra.
- We list tools that are well known for the job. We haven't tested every one, and we say so when we have.
- Commission rates don't decide what we recommend or in what order.
- Affiliate links carry
rel="sponsored". - We are applying to programs including SE Ranking, Semrush, SpyFu, Hostinger and Cloudways. Until a program approves us, its links go straight to the vendor and earn nothing.
Sponsored placements in the directory
Tool companies can pay for a featured spot in a directory category. A featured entry sits at the top of its category for the paid period and is always labelled Sponsored. Its links carry rel="sponsored".
- Paid placement never changes our reviews or scores. We write every entry, sponsored or not, from the vendor's own public pages, with the date we checked them. A sponsor can correct a fact. A sponsor can't buy praise, remove criticism, or change a score.
- Standard listings are free. We don't charge to be included, and we don't drop tools that decline to pay.
- Our own free tools are labelled “Ours” and listed separately.
- We only accept placements for tools relevant to SEO and AI search visibility, and we can decline any of them.

Everything else
Blog posts, guides, comparisons and research are not sponsored. If that ever changes for a specific piece, the piece will say so at the top.
